The Digital LCD TV is also referred as a "transmissive" display meaning that light is transmitted through a display panel. A light source such as a simple bulb located behind the liquid crystals illuminates the display screen. A diffusion panel located in between the LCD panel and the light source diffuses the light evenly to ensure a uniform image.
